A high-performance sports car features an active rear spoiler that adjusts automatically based on speed and driving conditions to enhance aerodynamics and stability.
To ensure optimal performance and safety, the spoiler must deploy and retract in perfect synchronization. Any misalignment between the two actuator cylinders could lead to mechanical stress, reduced aerodynamic efficiency, or system failure.
Temposonics® magnetostrictive position sensors were integrated into both hydraulic cylinders controlling the spoiler motion. The sensors provide real-time, precise position feedback, allowing the control unit to synchronize cylinder movement with hightest accuracy.
